Success for the First Course in Mitral Valve Surgery: The President's Message

It was a special day because finally  Mitral Academy inaugurated its first of a series of multi-level courses organized for cardiac surgeons as well as other medical staff.
The first educational event was dedicated to young surgeons in lieu of launching their professional career and wanting to take on the mitral philosophy.  In the future, there will also be advanced lectures for cardiac surgeons who are already practicing  mitral surgery.  Courses for cardiologists and anesthetists have also been planned because the team has thought up a wide range of training without overlooking perfusionists or nurses who aid surgeons, especially,  in mininvasive surgeries.
This is academy is for all branches of medical staff. Training is an extraordinary thing that belongs to anyone who is in a profession for which he has deep-felt  passion and therefore feels the need to convey with others. Excellent and strong communication allows for cultural diffusion.
In this first session I saw amazing responsiveness from the participants and I witnessed very fruitful and interesting discussions amongst young surgeons and experts whom have found a way of confronting and networking among themselves.
The courses organized by Mitral Academy are dedicated to a very select group of people, with exceptional value, because the professors that engage with these young  doctors are surgeons with a considerable experience behind them. 
We’ve embarked on the right foot. In a year Mitral Academy has become an important training hub with prestigious international partnerships suc as the Mitral Foundation of Mount Sinai.
I hope that in the future there will be new meetings and new training appointments.
